Protecting people living in isolation with Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles

At Lilac Howell, we believe in the power of film to bring stories of transformation to life. Working alongside Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles, we set out not only to record the Chase Up Project, a National Lottery Community Fund–supported initiative in Cannock Chase, but to reveal its impact in a way that could be felt and understood far beyond the local community.

Our role was to take lived experiences and craft them into a cinematic narrative that carried both clarity and emotion. It was about more than filming activities in gardens, allotments, and workshops; it was about amplifying voices, weaving together perspectives, and giving a platform to people who might otherwise go unheard.

“On the first day of filming, I was instructed brilliantly by the team. At no point did I feel uncomfortable or that I was not very good. Very, very supportive.”

That sense of trust was essential in allowing authentic, heartfelt stories to come through.

Once captured, our footage was carefully shaped into a polished, emotionally resonant film. Every transition, every moment of slow motion, and every pacing decision was chosen to match the tone of the project itself. Uplifting, human, and hopeful.

For us, this is what impact filmmaking is about. We didn’t simply document a project. We told its story in a way that celebrated its people, magnified its achievements, and ensured its legacy will continue to inspire.

“The transitions, the subtle slow motion, it’s the same quality you’ll see on TV. Absolutely fantastic job.”
